One Direction "inspired" red & white nails.

Oh wow! Haven't posted in ages! But, I thought I'd do a quick post just to add something to this blog!

So recently, I went to a One Direction concert with a good friend of mine, and OMG, it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!  Those boys just have something that makes you go crazy!

And to celebrate the occasion I decided to do some nail art rather than dressing myself in their merch. I heard that 1D is known for their red and white themed stuff so that's what I decided to go for. What I did was, 1. White base coat. 2. Coat of red polish going diagonally across the nail. 3. Used a dotting tool to create white dots on the red part of the nail. So simple and super easy!

My hand looks abnormal because I took these photos real quick, and the nail art is quite rushed so it might look dodgy... But overall I'm happy with how it turned out and I have been getting a lot of compliments from people who just happen to catch their eye on these.

As for the concert, it was just so much fun! I have been going through "post concert depression" lately and it just sucks :(.  I really just want to be back there singing on the top of my lungs and dancing till my feet are sore! The boys engage with the audience and I think that's what made it such an entertaining and fun night!

THEY'RE FLYING!!
So close to them, yet so far :(
Okay kids, that's all I have time for today, but hopefully I'll be posting more and so will Kat!
Stay tuned!

Holiday Nail Polish Picks

Okay, so before I start explaining why Kit and I have been MIA for so I just want to say, Happy New Year! 2013 is going to be an amazing year I just know it, so please stay tuned as we will be working on our blog more and have some great things installed for you guys. So our excuse is that, in Australia it is currently Summer break and yes we have been busy and so therefore, unfortunately our blog has been neglected. :) Enough rambling and onto the polish, ha.

So the nail polishes I have picked are slightly Christmasy, because when I took the Images it was before Christmas, nevertheless they are still wearable. And please excuse my nails as they were out of shape. This post seems to be nothing but excuses, haha :P.

(From left to right): Revlon- Cayenne, OPI- Russian Navy, Revlon- Silver dollar, Ruby- "Ring my bell zinfandel"and Revlon- Bonsai

Revlon Colourstay- Number 150 Cayenne

This colour is a tomato red with red micro shimmer and a gold undertone when you tilt it under the light. Very Christmassy but, eh.

Revlon Colourstay- Number 230 Bonsai

This polish is a lime green colour with green and gold micro shimmer and perhaps a slight hint of red in that shimmer. This polish and the colour above came together in a gift set available at Myers.

Revlon- Number 928 Silver dollar

This is a classic silver polish, but the plus is that it is less frosty and more metallic which is a look most prefer.

OPI- Russian Navy

This is a classic OPI polish, but very wintery. It has a purple and pink shimmer.

Ruby- Ring my bell zinfandel

An oxblood red which is currently on trend, it is a jelly formula with no glitter/shimmer whatsoever. The formula was a bit gloopy though.

Revlon Colourstay- Number 150 Cayenne

Revlon Colourstay- Number 230 Bonsai

Revlon- Number 928 Silver dollar

OPI- Russian Navy

Ruby- Ring my bell zinfandel

I hope you enjoyed this post or it helped you out in some weird way even though it is not winter in Australia and New years and Christmas has passed... haha, this post was probably a little weird. Anyways if you would like to see any reviews of any items mentioned please comment or message.

Australian Beauty Haul

Hey guys!

It's been a while since our last post, and we decided that we needed a new post on this blog, stat!

So today, as you know from the title of this post, we have a HAUL!! It's nothing huge but enough for a post so lets get started. ;)

Obviously this is non beauty related, but I thought I would just add these candles in for good measure. These where only one dollar each, Bargain!!

A makeup bag from a brand named "Modella". It has a nautical colour scheme, with navy blue and white stripes and red cherries, very cute! Anyone familiar with the brand?

Maybelline Baby Lips pink glow in the colour baby pink. I have the darker colour too and honestly these are just AMAZING! The price and the quality. This was just under $3.

Essence products.

Essence 'Forget it' 3 in 1 concealer. This was $4.50

Essence 'lash & Brow' gel mascara. This was $3.95

Essence gel eyeliner brush. I can't remember how much this cost, probably around $4.

Now these are amazing, no joke! They are from the Australian makeup brand 'Kit'. These are lip balms which have a tint to them and smell like fresh mint. I picked up the 'Peachy tint sheen' and 'Berry tint sheen' and they sell for $15 a pop!

So I hope you enjoyed this little haul! Please comment down below if you enjoyed this post and what else you want to see on this blog.

REVLON Super Lustrous Lipstick Set REVIEW/SWATCH

Hey babes!

My first review and swatch! Lets get this baby going! :)

So in Australia, the Christmas season is coming into full swing regarding shopping and all that jazz, and what I love is that during this season so many stores start to sell gift sets and these are at such a bargain price compared to the original priced items you buy singularly.

So I recently went out and bought a REVLON Super Lustrous Lipstick Set for $29.95. This is an AMAZING price due to the fact that each separate lipstick costs $21.95!

The gift set came with three lipsticks, Rum Raisin, Teak Rose and Plumalicious, which are all 4.2g. The set also gave a cute compact mirror ^_^
The swatches on the back of the box are quite deceiving because the colours do not look like this at all! ahaha
Plumalicious, Teak Rose and Rum Raisin.
Swatches of the the lipsticks.
Rum Raisin.
Teak Rose.

Plumalicious.
The lipsticks are all very opaque, and have a creamy texture to them which makes them smooth and easy to apply. Having said that, these specific shades may not suit everyone. These are quite 'vampy', but the lighting makes them out to be lighter than they are. They are definitely something i would wear during the winter months, but during summer i would opt for lighter shades or clear balms. I have not tried the other colours in the Super Lustrous Lipstick series, but I would be expecting similar textures and 'opaqueness'.

So overall, I personally love the colours, the texture, the general feel of the lipsticks but they are definitely, like I said, a winter makeup item.

Welcome

First post, YAY!
This blog is purely done out of interest for the world of beauty and this is solely a hobby, nothing serious. Kind of like an online beauty journal where we can keep track of our beauty finds and loves. We will post inspirations, reviews, hauls, swatches, and the like. Hope you enjoy :)
